India is one of the largest functioning democratic nations. It is the second most populous nation in the world (exceeding 1.2 billion). With its abundant mix of religions, languages, and ethnic groups, India has tremendous spiritual needs. Only 2.5% of Indians consider themselves Christians. Because of high unemployment and poverty, many young adults are being tormented physically and mentally. Many children are being made orphans, semi-orphans or destitutes.

When we go on mission trips to villages and urban areas, we see many young people who are high school graduates roaming the streets without jobs or professional training. It is our plan to offer such youth vocational and biblical training. With a quality education, they will have the opportunity to earn their own living. Moreover, the biblical training will give them the knowledge and strength to be witnesses for Jesus Christ in their own villages. If they choose to be full-time gospel workers, we offer them a place to work for the Lord.

Our plan is to admit 15-20 youth from the nearby villages and offer them training with free boarding and lodging. They will live at the centre throughout the year (or more) until their training is complete. Hence, facilities for their daily needs must be provided.
Additionally, when we conduct continuing Bible Training programs, an average of 50 male and female students participate. We need to provide them class rooms as well as boarding and lodging facilities. As time goes on, we shall offer various courses for a greater number of students. More facilities will be added as needed.

Before we can begin training students at Light of Hope Retreat and Learning Centre, we must build the chapel/classroom facilities. Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) is needed to build the chapel. It is our appeal to any individual or church to kindly come forward and extend your gracious financial help (either in lump sum or installments) to build the chapel block. The same will be remembered in their name.
Next, we need to build the boarding and lodging facilities for our full-time and part-time students. $21,500.00 are needed to provide this facility.
In addition to the building projects, we will have recurring expenses such as utilities, wages and salaries, boarding and lodging expenses, etc. A minimum of $500.00 is needed to meet these and monthly administrative expenses.
